These are VR hardware and accessories I regularly use.
HTC Vive Pro Eye + Wireless Adapter + Vive wands.
I use the Vive wands mostly because they're reliable but also because they're what a lot of old apps were made for. I still have 4x Valve Index controllers, but they're all broken in some way. Maybe I'll replace or repair them someday soon? Hard to say. Index 2.0 is well on its way now.
Meta Quest 3 + Binbok T3 Plus battery headstrap.
2021: Valve Index.
2020-2021: Quest 2 256GB + OG Vive Wireless Adapter battery pack. HTC Vive Pro Eye + Vive Wireless Adapter + Valve Index controllers. Gave the Quest 2 to my wife when I got the Quest 3 so she could play with me. She ended up not really liking it and gave the Quest 2 away as a Christmas gift.
2019-2020: HTC Vive + Vive Wireless Adapter + Valve Index controllers.
2018-2019: HTC Vive + Vive Wireless Adapter + 4x v1.0+v2.0 Vive Trackers.
2017: Leap Motion hand tracker. This was great for use in early days social apps like Altspace VR and was definitely a cool discussion piece when socializing with fellow dweebs! I still have this thing, and it still works, but it has been made kind of pointless by the combination of Virtual Desktop and Quest 3. Funny how quickly these technologies get replaced without actually changing much.
2016-2017: Original HTC Vive full kit.
Pre-2016: Amazon Fire Phone + Trinus VR for wireless PCVR and standalone via Google Cardboard stack. These days, I experimented with a lot of 3D mice and mouse alternatives. I really loved the Razer Hydra.
2021: Valve Index. I bought one of these secondhand but ended up not liking it. It wasn't wireless and was heavier than almost everything else. The FOV was phenomenal, though. I ended up selling it for a profit after having it for nearly 2 months and using it for only a few days. It wasn't as fun as the Vive Pro Eye, so I stuck with that for the most part.
2020: Oculus Go. I got my hands on one of these at a Goodwill. It was a steal... but it wasn't great.
2016: Oculus Rift CV1. Got this soon after the HTC Vive. It wasn't even roomscale at launch and didn't include VR controllers. A later bundle included controllers and an extra tracking camera. I never had that version.
Pre-2016: Samsung GearVR. I tried this at Best Buy before getting my HTC Vive to see if it was good enough to stop me from putting down $900 for the Vive. It was decent for the time... definitely better than most Google Cardboard stuff.
